AV Trainer/ Technician - English - Sofia

Position: AV Trainer/ Technician

Location: Sofia, Bulgaria

Employment type: Full-time

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and deliver hands-on training for aspiring AV Technicians, including theory, practice, and assessments.
  • Develop and maintain training resources and documentation.
  • Assess trainee performance and provide feedback to ensure skill mastery.
  • Stay current with AV/IT trends and update training and studio operations accordingly.
  • Install and configure AV/IT systems in the studio based on Broadcast Engineer plans.
  • Assemble and set up professional video cameras and related equipment.
  • Run, test, and troubleshoot video, audio, and network cables for optimal performance.
  • Install studio lighting per plans.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues quickly to minimize downtime.
  • Work various shifts, including nights, to support studio operations.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Native/fluent in English (C1), both oral and written.
  • Solid experience in assembling, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing AV and IT hardware.
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences with clarity.
  • Background in mentoring, training, or teaching, ideally in a technical or AV field.
  • Familiarity with multimeters and a basic understanding of AC/DC circuitry.
  • Skilled in configuring and installing Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Hands-on experience with AV equipment, including in TV control room settings and Chroma Key technology.
  • Expertise in handling, testing, and troubleshooting various cabling systems.
  • Willingness to stay current with evolving technologies and continuously improve technical skills.
  • Patience, flexibility, and enthusiasm for sharing knowledge and fostering team growth.
  • Experience in setting up and configuring computer peripherals and drivers.
  • Basic knowledge of operating video cameras, microphones, and audio mixers.
