  • Have breakfast at a local café or restaurant. Bratislava has a number of great places to eat, and starting your day with a hearty breakfast can be a great way to fuel up for a good day ahead. Slovakia has a number of delicious pastries and baked goods that are popular for breakfast. Some popular choices include kolache (sweet pastries filled with fruit or cheese), buchty (sweet rolls filled with jam or cheese), and langoš (a type of fried dough).

  • Have a picnic in one of the city's parks or green spaces. Take your lunch to go and try some of the local cuisine such as halušky (boiled potato dumplings with sheep cheese and bacon), pirohy (boiled dumplings filled with potato or cheese), and guláš (beef and vegetable stew).

  • Take a stroll through the Old Town and enjoy the beautiful architecture and lively atmosphere. Visit a bar or brewery and sample some local craft beer. Go to a concert or show at the Slovak National Theatre or the Old Market Hall. Play a game of bowling or laser tag at a local entertainment centre.

  • Take a trip to the Small Carpathian Wine Route and taste some of the delicious local wines. Visit the Trenčín Castle, a well-preserved medieval castle located in the town of Trenčín. Explore the beautiful natural surroundings at the Malé Karpaty (Small Carpathians) mountain range, which is popular for hiking, cycling, and skiing. Take a day trip to the capital city of Vienna, Austria, which is just a short train ride from Bratislava.
